Born: October 11, 1925 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Died August 20, 2013, Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. A novelist, short story writer and screen writer. His first novels were westerns, but he later specialized in crime fiction and suspense thrillers. Many of his novels were made into movies.
