An American Quaker poet and advocate of the abolition of slavery in the United States. Frequently listed as one of the Fireside Poets, he was influenced by the Scottish poet Robert Burns. His most popular book was Snow-Bound. He was born December 17,1807, Haverhill, Massachusetts and died September 7, 1892, Hampton Falls, NH. Autographed Letter Signed (ALS) on 4.5 x 7 stationery.
