An English writer, born June 22,1856 in Bradenham, United Kingdom and died on May 14, 1925 in Marylebone, London. His works were largely of adventure fiction, but also some non-fiction. Most of his fiction was set in exotic locations, predominately Africa. He was also a pioneer of the lost world genre. He wrote 56 novels, the most famous of which was King Solomon's Mines.
