Paul Bedford (1792-1871) was a singer, comedian who first appeared on stage at Swansea; in Drury Lane opera company, 1824-33. He joined Macready's Company as a singer Covent Garden in 1833 and subsequently played second low comedy parts at the Adelphi Theatre. He last appeared in 1868 at the Queen's Theatre in London. Offered is an Autographed Letter Signed (ALS) to a W. Keinth, Esq., Bow Street , Covent Garden and postmarked Oct.3, 1852 or 1862. The letter is to recommend a Mr. Bland as competent to assume the late Mr. Hudson's duties of Dublin. The ALS measures 7.5" x 8.5" and is in Good condition with the an address and postmarks on the reverse. Also included is the front page of the Theatrical Times of Oct. 3, 1846 with an illustration of Mr. Bedford performing.
